Touch's business model is to provide a consistent, competitive, service focused solution to our customers. We recognise that at all times we represent our customer, Unisys to your clients. Our technicians are all smartly attired, however as we do offer resources to a number of customer, none of our technicians wear any company uniforms or logos.

To enable us to achieve this model, Touch has partnered with Reed Technology in a mutually exclusive arrangement, so that Reed provides Touch with salaried technical resource on a short, medium or long term basis. Effectively Touch has outsourced the human resource function for our technical people to Reed. In practice when Touch has a requirement for new people, a profile request is sent to Reed. In turn, Reed provides Touch with CVs of likely candidates, who are then interviewed and if successful, selected by Touch operational management. Each technician has to have the appropriate technical and customer facing skills. The model is now so well established that a core of approximately 80% of our operational staff is on long term contracts with Touch via Reed.

The major benefits of the resource model are:

  • All our staff are salaried personnel with associated benefits including holiday and sick pay
  • Touch can utilise the whole of the Reed resource pool to identify the right people for the roles required
  • Our commitment to our people is rewarded by low attrition rates, consistent levels of service and the removal of any tax implications of the owner/driver approach
  • Flexibility to resource up/down quickly, especially useful for deployment activity where the work profile is very dynamic
  • Touch leverage the Reed human resources overhead for recruitment and payroll
  • Although employed by Reed, the people are dedicated to Touch
