Gary Piper
Director
Gary has had a long career in IT service working for two years as Commercial Director for Newcotech, and seven years for ICL, in the roles of Contract Director and Head of Retail Services. After a spell of consultancy, most notably acting as program director for the transition of the logistics service business from Logicom to Synstar, Gary co-founded Touch in 2003 and continues to be a major shareholder.
What inspired you to form TOUCH?
There was a gap in the low-end technical resource market, not adequately filled by "technical courier" companies. I seized the opportunity and created Touch.
What was the rationale for the Touch business model?
Right from the outset, the critical success factors for Touch was always going to be based on three areas: our knowledge and experience of the service industry and the provision of an easy to use, easy to integrate and comprehensive IT system were first in place. Lastly our resource model; we developed the strategy to base our operation on salaried personnel to ensure control and commitment to service.
How do you see the growth of Touch?
Over the next five years I believe the trend for outsourcing break/fix, especially in the IT services world will continue, and that Touch will be the natural choice for such companies to partner.
